Okay. I admit. I saw the Active Rain contest: Surviving your Serengeti: An ActiveRain Challenge and couldn’t resist the 2,500 points, just for entering. Then the quiz link caught my eye. I’ve seen similar things on Facebook and have successfully ignored them, but here was a chance to share with my ActiveRain friends the beast I truly am. A
lion? The king of the jungle would surely
be appropriate. Perhaps a rhino, a really dominating creature. I went straight to the test.
A mongoose? There’s got to be some mistake. Wikipedia gives me this: a small carnivore and the plural is mongooses. I’m a little less than thrilled. I’m going to blog about being a furry little rodent. You betcha!
I back arrowed to Google and tried the video link:
All right. There is some hope. The mongoose is a risk taker, is decisive and is fast. I can live with that. I downloaded and read the first two chapters of Stefan Swanepoel’s new book anxious to see how the mighty mongoose is portrayed in the story. Guess I have to wait until the March 1st release date. Emulating the described survivor traits of any of the animals in the fable Surviving your Serengeti: 7 Skills to Master Business and Life will surely be an enjoyable read and an educational experience beneficial to the real estate agent and to anyone making their way through the business world of the 21st Century.

Glenn, I'm glad you feel good about being a Mongoose. :) I have not taken the test yet, but it would be interesting to see my results. I truly think we can be a combination of personalities...and we act according to what the situation calls for. You truly may be a rhino or a lion at times.
Sonja - our self-image isn't always what we think.
Well, that video was an amazing clip. So--you're quick, accurate, and know just what to do to get your results, huh? And I bet there's even more. Not bad!
Lottie - Kind of funny. I am anxious to read about the mongoose on the Serengeti now.
That is amazing. You certainly have to have fast reflexes to survive in this market. And be fearless. Nothing wrong with being a mongoose.
Glenn, Have just started the reading last night, quiz and post shortly. Like you, can't pass up 2500 points...need 'em to catch Roger :)
Glen love the video. I have not thought about the mongoose in years. Here is another tit-bit. It was introduced to Jamaica to eradicted rats a menace to sugar plantations. The mongoose population grew and they also got rid of some other natural predator which then caused other problems.
Jane - Well, I hope so. I'll continue using the same old picture though.
Bliz - Roger is making a joke out of you lately...posting jokes one after another.
Jennifer - It's often tragic when man tries a natural solution with a non-indigenous species.
Lightning quick reflexes and a thick hide - can't beat that in the business world!! Or any world!!
Cara - Do you have an mongooses down in your desert?
Glenn - Once I watched the video of the mightily, lighting-fast reflexes, thick hide Mongoose kick the the Cobra's @$$ - that was enough to win my respect!
Kristine - I'm not sure I want respect because I can kick a cobra's A$$, but IO don't mind taking a risk now and then.
Glenn, the quiz says I am a crocodile---not sure if that is a crock or not :)
Charlie, I think it refers to the flapping of the jaws :)
I think that mongoose is a handsome fellow. Feel proud!
Thank you, Jane. I'll try smiling for the camera.
Guess I'm gonna have to read it... lots of interesting blog posts about this book!
Margaret, if you are quick you can get a few thousand points as well. Go for it.
Our Operating Partner was a Mongoose also...and it fit....I think if I wasn't a Cheetah, that would have been my second choice. Being a Risk Taker has always been something I wished I was better at!
Cindy in INdy
Hey Glenn - I am a mongoose also! Not too many of us I notice. Absolutely loved the video...what a cool animal! I am proud to claim "kinship" :)
Cindy - I wonder if the mongoose is as opptomistic as I am when it comes to taking a risk, or if he's just hungry for snake.
Linda - I felt a little better after finding the video too.
Glenn, I liked your post...kind of a different twist...must be an out of the box thinker. I wouldn't have a problem being a mongoose, but somehow ended up as a Giraffe...better than a skunk!
Nick - Is skunk an option?
Wow! You GO, Glenn! Just watched the video. Pretty impressive. (Note to self: Don’t mess with Glenn.) ;)
Well, I'm a crocodile and at first blush that didn't sound so enticing either, but we each have amazing qualities that get us through the day!
That mongoose really took down that cobra with no problem at all. I tested out as a croc but not a crock!
Margaret
Aw, Bill. I'm easy.
Frank and Sharon - Crocodiles together?
Margarte - I've seen the crocs take the gnus to dinner.
